Hats Off to the GRAD!

The day has finally come.....You are all dressed up: tassle, cap and gown. Palms are sweaty, awaiting anticipation.  Just then, you hear the university band play the song, "Pomp and Circumstance." Your ready to walk down the aisle (not this kind of aisle, ladies). Come on, victory is almost yours..You've shaked your president's hand, got your picture taken and grabbed your official piece of legal document deeming you....A GRADUATE of your college!

So now what? Now that you have your piece of paper stating your degree of choice and perhaps entitling you to thounsands and thousands of student loans? Thinking to yourself, "what will I do with my life? Maybe you have multiple job offers and don't know which to take. Or perhaps you've been in a committed relationship and are torn between staying home and leaving for that "perfect job."

One of  my favorite songs, "It's Your Life" by Francesca Battistelli talks about your life and life choices.The world is watching you and are you gonna live it? Actually God is watching you. You're just livin' in His world. Graduates or not, we have life choices to make everyday. We can choose to ignore than or choose to embrace his Holyness. Easier said than done..but a ridgid daily walk w/ God is better than none.

So GRADS..what will ya do? As hard as it is to not feel pressured, you can easily get tripped up in this. Yes, there are many decisions to be made..but unless you're an 85 year old graduate, you still have a life to live and stil have room to make mistakes. People may tell you, "your future awaits you," however you don't have to wait for it. Make those mistakes and learn to appreciate yourself. Fall in love...stumble on your feet..write a song you've been meaning to write.

So as you hear the song, "Pomp and Circumstance" in your head, dream ahead, full speed. Because your life is waitng..are you ready for the taking?
